This year she was awarded with the Gilbert Bayes RCA Award.
In 2024, Fernández-Plenge graduated from Parsons School of Design. Previously, in 2016, she did the One-Year Certificate from the International Center of Photography, New York. She also holds a B.A. in Communications and Media at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Lima. With diplomas from Central Saint Martins, the University of Arts London; Universidad Europea de Madrid; LENS; EFTI; Royal College of Art, London; and Centro de la Imagen, Peru; her work been shown internationally including Casa de América, Madrid; the United States Embassy of Peru; School of Visual Arts, New York; Museo Mario Testino (MATE), Lima; and the International Center of Photography, New York City, among others.
She was an artist-in-residence at School of Visual Arts for the summer of 2024. In 2020, the artist finished a residency at the International Studio & Curatorial program (N.Y.), where her studio was funded by the Yoko Ono Foundation, Alice and Lawrence Weiner, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council, the Natasha Gelman Foundation, and the New York State Council of the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
